Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long does it take Stormsure to dry?
Stormsure takes 36-48 hours to fully dry (depending on repair conditions and thickness of the repair). To speed up the curing process, you can use Stormcure Accelerator, which reduces cure time to approximately 1 hour.
2. How to apply Stormsure?
1. Clean and dry the repair area.
2. Apply Stormsure adhesive evenly over the damaged area, ensuring you spread glue 5mm over the edge of the repair to ensure good adhesion.
3. Allow the adhesive to cure on a flat surface for 36-48 hours (when not using a cure accelerator).
3. How do I make Stormsure cure faster?
Use Stormcure Accelerator to reduce the cure time to around 1 hour. Just mix some accelerator with the adhesive in a ratio of 1:5.
You can also mix the adhesive with a damp stick or mix in a couple of water drops to reduce the cure time by approx. 50% (cure time will vary slightly).
4. How does Stormsure cure?
Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive is moisture curing.
5. How to repair wellies with Stormsure?
1. Clean the damaged area thoroughly and ensure the repair surface is flat/level.
2. Apply Stormsure adhesive directly to the tear or hole.
3. Smooth the adhesive evenly with a spatula or similar tool.
4. Let the repair cure for 36-48 hours for maximum durability. For faster results, use Stormcure Accelerator.
6. How to remove Stormsure glue from hands?
Remove as much glue as possible by rubbing your hands together to create friction. Any left over adhesive is difficult to remove, but applying talc can help reduce the tackiness. The leftover adhesive will come off within a few days.
7. What kind of glue is Stormsure?
Stormsure is a polyurethane glue, known for its flexibility, durability, and waterproofing properties. It is ideal for repairing outdoor gear, wellies, inflatable items, and more.
8. How to store Stormsure?
Store partly used tubes in the freezer to prevent curing. When ready to use, defrost the tube by placing it in a mug of hot water. Tubes can be frozen and defrosted multiple times without affecting performance.
